Wrought iron is a durable, malleable type of iron with low carbon content. It can be shaped without breaking.
Unlike cast iron, which is brittle and poured into molds, wrought iron is hand-forged. This allows for intricate detailing and superior strength.
Wrought iron is commonly used for doors, gates, railings, and furniture. Its fibrous texture and corrosion resistance make it ideal for custom iron doors.
While both iron and steel are commonly used in construction and manufacturing, they have distinct differences:
Iron: A natural element found in the Earth’s crust, iron is used in various forms, including wrought iron and cast iron.
Steel: An alloy made from iron and carbon, steel is stronger, denser, and more resistant to impact and stress.
Wrought iron is often preferred for decorative applications due to its flexibility and timeless appeal, whereas steel is commonly used for industrial and structural purposes.
Wrought iron doors are highly durable and weather-resistant, but they do need occasional maintenance to keep their beauty and strength.
Humidity, salt air (especially in coastal areas), and everyday wear can cause oxidation or rust over time.
To ensure longevity, we recommend:

Cleaning your wrought iron door properly helps maintain its beauty and durability. Here are the steps to follow:
Dust Removal: Use a soft, dry cloth or duster to remove dirt and debris.
Mild Cleaning Solution: Mix warm water with a mild dish soap and use a non-abrasive sponge or microfiber cloth to wipe down the surface.
Dry Thoroughly: After cleaning, dry the door completely with a lint-free cloth to prevent water spots or potential rusting.
Rust Prevention: In high-humidity environments, apply a protective wax or metal sealant to keep moisture out.

We use precise measuring tools and techniques during a thorough site inspection to ensure accurate measurements. This meticulous approach guarantees a perfect fit for your custom doors and glass inserts.
Non-impact (tempered) glass is heat-strengthened and very durable. If something hard hits it at high speed, it shatters into small granules for safety, similar to a car’s side windows.
Hurricane impact glass is laminated with a plastic interlayer, similar to a car’s front windshield. It can still break, but the interlayer holds the glass together and keeps the opening protected.
Beyond storm protection, hurricane impact glass also:
If you’re adding glass to your existing door, you can choose standard tempered glass or upgrade to hurricane impact glass. Tempered glass usually costs less.
If you choose tempered glass, we recommend having some form of storm protection. We offer DoorShield, an easy-to-install shutter that slides over your door during a storm, with no pre-drilling required.
